Originally from Austria, Sabine Heubusch received her B.A. in Music and Movement (Dalcroze Eurhythmics) from the University for Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, Austria in 1992. She collaborated with choreographer Sabine Sonnenschein at Performance Space WUK/Austria. Sabine moved to New York in 1993, when she was awarded a dance scholarship from the Ministry of Arts and Education/Austria. She studied Contemporary Dance and Contact Improvisation at Movement Research, Dance Space, and Eden Express and Hip-Hop at Broadway Dance Center. Her dancing is also influenced by Tango and Salsa, which she pursued on her extensive travels throughout South and Central America.

Sabine has been creating her own work since 1997, collaborating and performing with Emily Franklin, Tilman Kunze, Yorgos Mastkarsi, Gisela Navoni, Sabine Federspieler, Rachel Tinguely, Michele Brody, Gisella Sorrentino, and Eric Barnhill, amongst others at venues such as Dixon Place, Chashama, Pentacle Theater, Limelights, Tea Dances, and University Settlement. She has been choreoraphing and performing with Kostume Kult at the NYC Dance Parade. She began to focus on site-specific outdoor performances when she founded SUSA in 2001, partnering with Susan Pfeffer. In 2005 Sabine formed RASA Dance in collaboration with Rachel Tinguely, which in 2008, she named On-Site Dance. Sabine collaborates with different artists around the world.



Sabine has been certified as a teacher of the Alexander Technique, Yoga, Pilates Mat, Dalcroze Eurhythmics, and gives treatments in Reiki.  She teaches adults, children of all ages and children with special needs in public schools, music and art schools, colleges and fitness studios in New York and Austria.
